Where I'm From

Childhood remembrances are always depressing
If you're emo or bipolar
You always remember you're never father never coming
Standing in the window
Waiting for you father fully packed and ready to go
Hoping that maybe
Maybe this time will be different
You remember harsh cold winters
Sitting there thinking do my parents really love me
The cold comes embracing the darkness around you
All those around you mean nothing
And the ones who do care really only care about what you can give them
Childhood remembrances are the memories of all the times
Your family wondered what's wrong with you
When really all you wanted was someone you could talk to
A person who you could express all of the bottled up feelings to
My childhood remembrances are filled with pain and sorrow
But truly I have no regrets and
I'm sorry if I don't fit your description of a "normal" childhood
But guess what I don't care
Because my childhood was the thing that made me who I am today
It created a strong black man with the will to destroy any obstacle in the way of his dreams and goals
